HOBA STEEL products : SPIN® BRASS triangels and trapezes as flooring elements
To the Galeries Lafayette store group belong luxury department stores offering a premium shopping experience in iconic architectural buildings all around the world.

The architectural design of the department store in Luxembourg created by the world-renowned architects Foster + Partners contains
specific design elements to create a special and cozy atmosphere in the store and in the local context.

A core element of the design concept is the geometry and the resulting patterns and shapes, such as crystalline structures or all-over designs that dissolve.
Realizing the design, the architects use SPIN® BRASS elements made of solid brass from Hoba Steel.

While a controlled triangle all-over pattern on the façade takes on a dynamic quality through the interplay of light and shadow in the outdoor area, asymmetrical and irregular triangles
and trapezes made of brass on the floor  build the connection to the local environment.

The very large SPIN® BRASS elements emphasize materiality and value; their geometric shapes are reminiscent of the structure of a faceted gemstone.

To manufacture the oversized SPIN® BRASS elements, Hoba Steel has used very large brass sheets in special sizes,
which have been produced specifically for the Galeries Lafayette project in Luxembourg.
